Our Privacy Principles and Data Governance
At MyIPChecker, accessible via https://myipchecker.online, the privacy of our visitors is of paramount importance. This comprehensive Privacy Policy document outlines the types of information processed when you navigate our website, utilize our network diagnostic utilities, read our educational articles, or communicate with our technical team.
If you have questions regarding our privacy practices or wish to exercise any of your statutory privacy rights under regulations such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), please contact our Data Protection Officer directly at contact@myipchecker.online.
1. The Zero IP Logging Guarantee: In-Memory Processing
The hallmark of MyIPChecker is our strict, non-negotiable Zero IP Logging Policy. As a network diagnostics service, our primary function is to inspect and display information associated with Internet Protocol (IP) addresses upon user request. We handle this data with rigorous privacy safeguards:
-
Ephemeral In-Memory Execution: When you access our homepage or our IP Lookup tools, our server inspects incoming HTTP request headers (specifically
HTTP_CF_CONNECTING_IP,HTTP_X_FORWARDED_FOR, orREMOTE_ADDR) solely to detect your active network address. This calculation occurs entirely in transient server random-access memory (RAM). - No Database Storage: We never write, record, insert, or store your IP address in our MySQL database. Lookups are completely dissociated from persistent records. Once the HTTP response is transmitted to your browser, the temporary in-memory variable is destroyed by the PHP runtime garbage collector.
- No User Profiling or Behavioral Tracking: We do not construct browsing histories, tracking profiles, or device graphs. We do not correlate your IP address with your search queries, tool executions, or article reading habits.
2. Technical File Caching & Rate Limiting
To deliver sub-second response times, protect external API providers from denial-of-service conditions, and respect rate limits, MyIPChecker employs a localized 10-minute file cache located in our protected /cache/ server directory:
- What Is Cached: When a public IP address is queried, the resulting third-party geolocation payload (country name, region, approximate latitude/longitude, ISP name, and ASN) is serialized into an encrypted JSON file named using an irreversible MD5 cryptographic hash of the queried IP.
- What Is NOT Cached: The cache file contains only public routing and ASN metadata retrieved from upstream registries. It contains zero visitor identifiers, zero timestamps correlating specific users, zero session IDs, and zero personal credentials.
- Automatic Expiration: Cached JSON payloads have a strict Time-to-Live (TTL) of 600 seconds (10 minutes). Once expired, the cache file is overwritten or purged.
-
Security Protection: Direct web browser access to our
/cache/directory is forbidden by Apache server configuration directives (Require all deniedincache/.htaccess), preventing unauthorized retrieval of cached intelligence.
3. Cookies and Local Storage Technologies
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites you visit. MyIPChecker limits cookie usage to the minimum required for core platform functionality, security, and third-party advertising compliance:
A. Strictly Essential Technical Cookies
-
Session Cookie (
PHPSESSID): A temporary, random session token created when performing authenticated administrative tasks or submitting forms. It is used strictly to validate Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF) tokens, protecting both the server and the visitor from malicious request forgery. It expires automatically when you close your web browser.
B. Browser Local Storage (Client-Side)
-
Cookie Consent Choice (
cookieConsent): We utilize standard browserlocalStorageto store your consent status ('accepted'or'declined'). This client-side variable ensures that the cookie notification banner does not repeatedly re-appear during subsequent page visits. It contains zero personal data and remains stored locally on your device.
C. Google AdSense & Third-Party Advertising Disclosures
To support the free operation of our network diagnostic tools and educational library, MyIPChecker is designed to display contextual and interest-based advertisements managed by Google AdSense and its certified advertising partners:
-
Third-Party Vendor Cookies: Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on
https://myipchecker.online. Google's use of advertising cookies (such as the DoubleClick cookie) enables it and its partners to serve ads to our users based on their visit to our site and/or other websites on the internet. - Personalized Advertising: Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
- Opt-Out Portals: Alternatively, you can opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info or the European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance at www.youronlinechoices.eu.
- Current Status: Advertising display is controlled by our internal configuration framework. When advertisements are active, they are delivered through Google's official async script libraries adhering to modern Core Web Vitals standards.
4. Third-Party Integrations & External Service Providers
To calculate network diagnostics, resolve domain records, and visualize approximate coordinates, MyIPChecker interfaces with reputable external services:
-
Cloudflare DNS-over-HTTPS (DoH): When you perform queries in our DNS Lookup Tool, requests are transmitted securely over HTTPS to Cloudflare’s privacy-preserving DoH resolver (
https://cloudflare-dns.com/dns-query). Cloudflare does not log personal IP addresses or sell browsing data, conforming to RFC 8484 specifications. -
IP Geolocation Data Providers: To deliver location and ASN data, our backend queries upstream geolocation services in sequence (
ipwho.is,ipapi.co, andip-api.com). These requests are dispatched from our server backend via secure cURL queries. Your client browser never communicates directly with these data providers, keeping your client environment isolated. -
OpenStreetMap (OSM): Where geolocation coordinates are available, our interface displays an interactive map via an embedded
<iframe>powered by OpenStreetMap. The embed is configured withloading="lazy"to ensure that tile assets are only requested when the map card scrolls into your visible viewport. OpenStreetMap processes requests in accordance with the OpenStreetMap Foundation Privacy Policy.
5. Contact Form Submissions & Communications Data
When you voluntarily send a message through our Contact Us Form, we collect the information you explicitly provide:
- Your full name (for personal greeting and correspondence).
- Your email address (to deliver our technical response).
- Your inquiry subject and message body text.
- Timestamp of message dispatch.
Usage & Retention: This communication data is stored within our secure MySQL database table (contact_messages) solely for the purpose of answering your technical inquiries, processing bug reports, or addressing legal inquiries. We do not add your email to marketing lists, we do not send promotional newsletters, and we never sell, lease, or distribute your correspondence to third parties. Messages are routinely purged after technical resolution.
6. Web Server Access Logs & Infrastructure Monitoring
Like all standard web servers hosted within enterprise cloud infrastructures (Hostinger / Apache 2.4), our hosting environment automatically records raw server access entries. These server logs may record:
- Internet Protocol (IP) address of the requesting device;
- Browser user-agent string and operating system architecture;
- Requested URL path, HTTP method, and protocol version;
- Date and timestamp of the server request;
- HTTP response status code (e.g., 200, 301, 404);
- Referring website URL (if provided by your browser).
These logs are maintained exclusively by our infrastructure provider for network intrusion detection, DDoS mitigation, server load balancing, and diagnostic crash analysis. They are retained for standard operational periods and are not linked or correlated with user identities.
7. Data Security Safeguards
We implement robust administrative, technical, and architectural security measures to safeguard user data:
- End-to-End Transport Encryption: All web traffic is strictly encrypted using modern Transport Layer Security (TLS 1.2 / TLS 1.3) with 256-bit cryptographic ciphers. HTTPS is enforced across all endpoints via server-level 301 redirection.
-
Defensive HTTP Headers: Our web server transmits defensive HTTP security headers, including
X-Content-Type-Options: nosniff,X-Frame-Options: SAMEORIGIN, andReferrer-Policy: strict-origin-when-cross-originto mitigate cross-site scripting (XSS) and clickjacking risks. - SQL Injection Prevention: All database queries utilize PHP Data Objects (PDO) with parameterized prepared statements, preventing SQL manipulation.
-
Input Sanitization: All user inputs are rigorously validated through PHP
filter_var()filters and escaped usinghtmlspecialchars()prior to HTML rendering.
8. Your Legal Privacy Rights (GDPR & CCPA Compliance)
Depending on your physical geographic location, you possess statutory rights regarding your personal information:
A. European Union (GDPR) Rights
Under Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR), visitors located in the European Economic Area (EEA) and the United Kingdom enjoy:
- The Right to Access: You have the right to request copies of any personal data we hold about you (such as prior contact form inquiries).
